Clear aligners, also known as the "clear align" system, are a revolutionary technique that allows for a comfortable and virtually unnoticeable way to straighten teeth.

This makes them, the ideal solution for anyone who prioritizes aestheticsespecially for people whose profession requires them to avoid wearing visible fixed braces.

Thanks to their smooth material, the aligners are comfortable to wear and, unlike braces, they don't irritate gums.

They are easily removable for meals, allowing for thorough brushing and promoting healthier gums.

Adaptation is quick, so patients get used to the aligners without discomfort or speech impediments.

The clear aligner treatment process

Diagnosis – Everything begins with an examination, where the dentist determines if you are a candidate for aligners and together you define the treatment goals.

Impression and Model – We take a precise impression of your jaw, which we then use to create a digital model of your future smile.

Patient Presentation – After a few days, we present a 3D simulation so you can see the entire course of treatment and the final look of your future smile.

Fabrication – With your approval, we fabricate a set of aligners that are precisely and completely tailored to your teeth. The aligners are made from A-silicone.

Fitting – At the first fitting, you will receive detailed instructions on how to wear, remove, and properly maintain the aligners.

Who Are Clear Aligners Recommended For?

They are ideal for correcting minor irregularities, such as gaps or slightly crooked front teeth.

They are a solution for patients who find fixed braces cause gum irritation and discomfort.

They are perfect for people who prioritize aesthetics and want to fix minor tooth misalignments without conspicuous, visible appliances.

Who cannot wear them?

Children with baby teeth – Since the jaw and teeth are not yet fully developed, aligners are not a suitable solution.

Individuals with serious orthodontic problems – More severe cases, such as severely rotated or crowded teeth, as well as serious bite problems, often require fixed braces or even surgical intervention.

Patients without enough discipline – Aligners must be worn at least 20–22 hours a day to achieve optimal results. People who often forget to wear them are not ideal candidates.

How long are clear aligners worn?

Each aligner is worn for one month, on average 18 hours per day. After this period, the first aligner is put aside, and the patient starts wearing the next aligner for another month.

Minor Irregularities

On average, minor irregularities, such as small gaps between teeth or slightly crooked teeth, can be corrected within 3 to 6 months.

Moderate Problems

For more moderate issues, like slight bite problems or tooth rotation, treatment typically lasts between six months and one and a half years..

Patients over 30

For patients over 30, it is recommended to wear the aligners as long as possible, only at night, even for several years. It's not a problem if the patient occasionally forgets to wear the aligner.

How to maintain your clear aligners?

Cleaning: The most important thing is to thoroughly clean the aligner with a toothbrush (a little toothpaste can be used) until it becomes completely transparent again, as if it were new.

Soaking in cleaning solution: Once a day, soak the aligners in a denture cleaning solution for 15-20 minutes. This will remove bacteria and freshen your breath.

Storage:

When not in your mouth – Store the aligners in a special case for aligners. This will protect them from damage and contamination.

Avoid heat – Do not leave the aligners in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as they can warp.

Additional tips:

Avoid consuming colored beverages – Coffee, tea, red wine, and sodas can stain the aligners. If you drink them, be sure to rinse your mouth with water afterward.

Do not eat or smoke with aligners – Always remove the aligners before eating and drinking. Nicotine can stain the aligners and cause bad breath.

Change your aligners regularly – Follow your dentist's instructions and change the aligners according to the recommended schedule.

How to put your aligners On?

1. Preparation: Always wash your hands before handling your aligners. We also recommend brushing your teeth beforehand to ensure the best fit.
2. Placement:
– First, gently place the aligner over your front teeth.
– Then, use your fingertips to gently press down over your side teeth until you feel the aligner "click" into place.

How to take your aligners off?

1. Start from the sides: The easiest way is to use your fingertip to gently unhook the edge of the aligner from your back teeth.
2. One side at a time: Once you've unhooked one side, repeat the process on the other. The aligner will then easily slide off.
Important tip: Be careful and avoid using force or any tools (like keys or fingernails) to prevent damaging your aligner. As soon as you take it out, place it in its case—it's safest there.

Is wearing aligners painful?

No. It's normal to feel a slight pressure, especially when you put in a new aligner, because this means they are working and straightening your teeth. However, you should not feel any pain. If pain occurs, please stop wearing the aligner and contact us immediately.

Will I have a lisp when I talk?

It is possible to have a slight lisp during the first few days of wearing the aligners, and this is completely normal. Your tongue is simply getting used to the presence of the appliance. Don't worry, this phase is temporary, and your speech will return to normal as soon as you get used to them.

Can I smoke while wearing aligners?

Smoking can negatively affect the appearance and hygiene of your aligners. The pigments from cigarette smoke will cause discoloration, turning the aligners yellow or brown, which ruins their discreetness. The aligner material can also retain the taste of tobacco. For these reasons, we advise you to avoid smoking while wearing aligners.

Can aligners be damaged?

Yes, aligners are most sensitive to high temperatures. Consuming hot beverages (like coffee, tea, or hot water) can permanently deform and damage the material, which can compromise the course of your treatment. Additionally, colored and sugary drinks can stain them and increase the risk of tooth decay.

Our Recommendation Drink only cold, plain water with your aligners in. For all other beverages, it's safer to take your aligners out.
